We ALL collectively did it!
This year’s Lake Jump is now a wonderful memory, held April 23 on the one and only truly warm pre-spring day in Ludington this year! We know five kids in Heaven that had a hand in the weather for this year’s event, and our thanks and continued prayers are with them and their families.
If you haven’t heard the news yet, $56,011 was raised at this year’s Lake Jump event! That includes in-kind donations from Synergy Media, Syncwave, and Statewide Party Rentals, as well as funds given from our generous sponsors listed on this page and individual contributors. We thank you all! Please support these sponsors that support community events like this.
We also owe a huge “thank you” to all of our volunteers, including the Ludington and Hamlin Lake fire departments and Mason County Sheriff dive team, and all of those who jumped this year, including many of the families we are currently helping and those we have helped in the past. It was a joy to have you all there. We had 130 people complete waiver forms to jump this year. And what a day it was, with temperatures in the high 60s for what many were saying was the warmest Lake Jump ever! We were watching the weather forecasts so closely for a full month leading up to the event. And the great forecast held……hallelujah!
This year’s Lake Jump was a fun event for a serious cause. Childhood cancer is prevalent in our area. We are currently helping six area families. Going through months and often years of cancer treatment, with out-of-town medical appointments, inpatient stays and outpatient visits is physically and emotionally draining for every family that goes through it. The Childhood Cancer Campaign can help with gas cards, out of town lodging, car repair, maintenance and expenses, groceries and utility payments. We can help provide emotional support, a listening ear, deep friendship and true caring. But we can’t take away the pain, the fear, or the weariness that each family experiences. We ask that you hold these families in your thoughts, in your prayers, in your hearts. And please know that your participation in this year’s Lake Jump shows how much you care. Thank you.
