Lakeshore Food Club is proud to announce that Monica Schuyler will be joining the chilly challenge for charity. Here’s what she has to say:
“My name is Monica Schuyler, and I work for the Pennies from Heaven Foundation. This year, I am choosing to jump in to the frigid waters of Lake Michigan because I believe in the Mission and Vision of the Lakeshore Food Club. There are certain life principles that connect us all, and access to affordable healthy foods is one of them. The Lakeshore Food Club was built from the ground up in this community, by this community to serve this community and is run on the generosity of local volunteers and donors. Despite only opening its doors in October of 2017, it has already reached over 1,000 local households in providing access to affordable healthy foods. Not only does the Food Club provide access to food, but it does so in a manner that provides dignity and respect to each individual. And it doesnt stop with food access. The Food Club is actively working to promote education, training and other resources to help families break the cycle of need. For all these reasons and more- I will jump for the Food Club, and for our community.”
