LUDINGTON, MI (January 27, 2009)—WMOM, a company of Milwaukee-based Bay View Broadcasting Inc., is pleased to announce today the launch of www.lakejump.org, the official website of its trademark fundraiser, the Annual Ludington Lake Jump. The new website aims to be an interactive tool for sharing the lake jump’s past, present and future, as well as highlighting this year’s 10th anniversary lake jump taking place on March 21st. Designed to allow for ongoing transformation, www.lakejump.org will provide new and existing supporters the opportunity to engage and communicate by adding photos and videos, and link to the lake jump’s Facebook fan page where users can contribute to forum discussions and invite friends to join. In addition, the site will include an archive gallery and total contributions made per year over the past nine years, as well as provide a comprehensive bank of resource materials and information for the media and general public with regard to benefactor organizations. “The lake jump’s web presence accurately reflects the brand that we have built as we approach the 10th anniversary of this event, and power the vision that we have for the future” said Patrick Lopeman, President of WMOM parent company, Bay View Broadcasting Inc. “The new site provides a portal to connect and explore new possibilities for growth, through ongoing donations to organizations committed to change for the better. In addition, it creates a sense of community pride and ownership for the success that past lake jump fundraisers have generated and the progress that has been made.” Crediting the organization and diligence of the Ludington Library’s “Just Imagine” campaign leadership, Lopeman is pleased that the planning of this year’s lake jump is much further ahead than past years. To kick-off fundraising efforts and celebrate the website launch, WMOM and the Ludington Library’s “Just Imagine” campaign will be co-sponsoring the “Eats, Beats and Bricks” event at PM Steamers on Saturday February 7th 2009, featuring appetizers and live music from Acoustibrew. Proceeds from the sale of available bricks will benefit the Ludington Library’s expansion. One of the largest charitable fundraising drives in Ludington history, the Lake Jump has effectively enabled many nonprofit organizations the ability to achieve their missions and impact the community. Over the last nine years, the lake jump has made contributions nearing $200,000 to organizations such as the American Red Cross, the Ludington Skate Plaza, and the Andre Bosse Center among others. The 10th Annual Ludington Lake Jump is scheduled for Saturday March 21st, 2009, and will be a family-friendly event with music provided by local singer and songwriter, Dan Nugent. For more information including how to make donations, visit www.lakejump.org, or call WMOM at (231) 845-9666.

LUDINGTON, MI (January 5, 2009)—WMOM, a company of Milwaukee-based Bay View Broadcasting Inc., is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its trademark fundraiser, the Annual Lake Jump, by announcing that this year’s proceeds will benefit the Ludington Library’s “Just Imagine” Expansion campaign. One of the largest charitable fundraising drives in Ludington history, the Lake Jump has effectively enabled many nonprofit organizations the ability to achieve their missions and impact the community over the last nine years.
Proposed plans for the library’s expansion will allow for increased programs for children and adults, expanded areas for both children’s and adult’s collections, additional computers for public access, enhanced main entrance design, as well as improvements in staff and circulation efficiency.
“WMOM is pleased to be working so closely with the caliber of individuals whose leadership on the “Just Imagine” campaign has harnessed and guided the energy of impassioned volunteers; their collective dedication inspired this decision” said Patrick Lopeman, President of WMOM parent company, Bay View Broadcasting Inc. “The Ludington Public Library is an essential resource to residents and visitors alike, and we are proud to support their efforts to expand the programs and services necessary for community growth.”
“We are so grateful for the partnership opportunity with WMOM on the Lake Jump. This event has contributed over $100,000 to charities in Western Michigan, and really demonstrates their commitment to the community.” Said Dr. Kevin Pollock, Chair of the “Just Imagine” campaign. “The additions to the children’s programs made possible by WMOM’s generosity are especially exciting to anticipate, and the most meaningful result of our resources. It is a tremendous investment for the area.”
Founded in 1999 by broadcast industry veteran Patrick Lopeman, WMOM broadcasts live from “the window on the world” at 206 W. Ludington Avenue, in the heart of downtown Ludington. Nominated twice as the NAB Marconi station of the year, WMOM has also been honored with numerous local and statewide broadcast awards. The annual “Lake Jump”, a fundraiser created and sponsored by WMOM, is in its tenth year as one of the area’s highest grossing single charity events for area nonprofit organizations.
