th
Annual Ludington Lake Jump to Benefit Ludington Area Center for the Arts
Ludington, MI: It’s January, but think spring! On Saturday, April 7, 2012, crowds of hardy folk will make
a splash for the arts at the 13
th
annual Ludington Lake Jump, in what’s become a rite of spring in
Western Michigan. The event will be held at Stearns Park Beach in Ludington at 11 a.m. This year’s
beneficiary is the Ludington Area Center for the Arts.
“We are honored that the Ludington Lake Jump Committee has selected the Center for the Arts to benefit
from this year’s event, “said Tim McKay, the Center’s board president. “I am also pleased that Megan
Payment has agreed to chair this year’s event. Her enthusiasm for the arts, tremendous creative energy,
and experience in event planning and fundraising will be terrific assets to the effort.”
The Center’s goal is to raise $30,000 at this year’s Lake Jump. The funds will be used toward
programming and renovations at the area’s first and only Center for the Arts. Everyone has an
opportunity to contribute to reaching the goal of this year’s Lake Jump: 1) see how many pledges you
can get for taking the plunge; 2) support someone who will be making a splash for the arts; or 3) take it a
step further and organize an employee team at your workplace and see if your employer will match the
team’s pledges.
More information about this year’s Lake Jump, including pledge forms, is available at www.lakejump.org
or on Facebook (Ludington Lake Jump).
